Project-Based On-Call IT Role for Mobile App Management (Otocast)
Role Description: We are seeking an experienced IT professional to manage any issues that arise with our mobile app, Otocast, which serves as an audio guide for historical tours in Westchester County. This is an on-call, project-based role, paid on an hourly basis, that requires quick response times and expert problem-solving skills to ensure the app functions smoothly on both Apple and Android platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with the Otocast mobile app
Monitor app performance and ensure its reliability and efficiency
Manage updates and improvements to the app as needed
Provide technical support to users experiencing issues
Collaborate with developers for more complex problem-solving
Ensure app compatibility with the latest versions of iOS and Android
Maintain documentation of issues and solutions for future reference
Required Skills:
Mobile App Development and Management:
Proficiency in both iOS (Swift, Objective-C) and Android (Java, Kotlin) development
Understanding of app store submission processes and requirements
Technical Troubleshooting:
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and fix app-related issues
Ability to diagnose and resolve performance problems
Software Maintenance:
Experience in applying patches, updates, and improvements to mobile applications
Knowledge of mobile app security best practices
User Support:
Excellent communication skills to assist users with technical problems
Ability to provide clear, step-by-step instructions and support
Performance Monitoring:
Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques to track app performance and user engagement
Ability to analyze data and metrics to identify potential issues
Version Control and Collaboration:
Proficiency in using version control systems like Git
Experience working in a collaborative environment with developers and other stakeholders
Documentation:
Ability to maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, fixes, and updates
Time Management:
Strong organizational skills to manage on-call responsibilities and ensure timely responses to issues
Preferred Skills:
Experience with audio streaming and integration within mobile apps
Familiarity with historical or cultural content applications
Knowledge of the Westchester County area and its historical landmarks
Additional Requirements:
Availability to respond to issues on an on-call basis, ensuring minimal downtime for the app
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment
Compensation:
This is a per-hour based role, with compensation determined by the complexity and duration of the tasks involved.
