Position Overview:
We are seeing a skilled and enthusiastic Junior-Senior Lawyer to contribute to our clients' businesses in the dynamic fields of financial technology and payments. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the establishment of business accounts in banks, EMIs, and PSPs, as well as managing merchant accounts. Your duties will include maintaining regular communication with financial institutions, understanding clients' specific requirements, optimizing payment structures, exploring diverse banking options, and including companies around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in opening business accounts in banks, EMIs, and merchant accounts at PSPs.
- Engage in consistent communication with financial institutions, including email correspondence, phone calls, and video conferences.
- Collaborate closely with clients to discern their needs and gain insight into their existing payment models.
- Offer legal advice on the most efficient payment structures and present alternative banking solutions.
- Conduct legal research on new banks, EMIs, and PSPs, evaluating factors such as transfer fees, SWIFT/SEPA/IBAN capabilities, supported business activities, countries of incorporation, and supported countries for payments.
- Prepare all necessary legal documents for the account opening process, including the completion of application forms and document management for submission.
- Assist in managing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Provide regular reports and updates on tasks related to the status of account openings, legal research, and the incorporation of companies around the world.
Requirements:
- A degree in law or a related field.
- Solid understanding of fundamental aspects of financial and legal processes.
- Strong legal research and analysis skills to identify new banks, EMIs, PSPs, and related entities.
- Knowledge of legal aspects related to SEPA/SWIFT transfers MDR, MCC, rates for forced refunds, and related financial concepts.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a focus on achieving results.
- Proficiency in using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Proficiency in English at a B2 level or higher.
- A minimum of 1 year of working experience in the Legal field or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for the FinTech and payment industry, coupled with a continuous drive for self-improvement.
- Keen attention to detail, exceptional legal analytical skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Interest in the payment industry with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
