Security Engineer
Job Summary / Overview
We are seeking a talented and proactive Security Engineer to join our team. As a Security Engineer, you will be entrusted with managing our security infrastructure and playing a crucial role in designing and implementing various security services. These services include but are not limited to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Management, Encryption/Decryption tools, and more.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Automate Security Deployment Processes:
Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts and processes for security tools and configurations to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Collaborate with SOC Teams:
Work closely with the Security Operations Center (SOC) teams to identify security gaps, drive improvements, and implement necessary changes to enhance overall security posture.
Manage Network of Security Servers:
Administer and maintain a network of over 200 servers hosting security tools, ensuring their availability, reliability, and performance meet organizational requirements.
Ensure Uptime of Security Tools:
Implement strategies to ensure continuous availability of security tools, minimizing downtimes, and promptly addressing any issues or outages.
Monitor Services Performance:
Monitor the performance and metrics of security services, proactively identifying areas for optimization and fine-tuning alerting mechanisms to ensure timely detection and response to security incidents.
Implement Hardening Processes:
Define and implement hardening processes for services and infrastructure components to mitigate security risks, following industry best practices and compliance standards.
Participate in Architectural Decisions:
Play an active role in architectural discussions and decisions related to security infrastructure, providing expertise and guidance to ensure security considerations are integrated into all system designs.
Evaluate New Security Systems Updates:
Test and evaluate new security systems updates, patches, and technologies to assess their effectiveness and suitability for deployment within the organization's environment.
Documentation of Security Procedures:
Develop comprehensive documentation for all security engineering procedures, including deployment processes, configurations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure continuity of operations.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing security infrastructure and implementing security solutions in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of information security principles, practices, and technologies, including SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Encryption/Decryption tools, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
Advanced experience with Linux/Windows servers.
Detailed knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
Experience with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure.
Strong scripting experience with Python.
Advanced experience with SIEM tools like Splunk.
Advanced experience with Vulnerability Assessment tools like Nessus, Qualys.
Advanced experience with File Encryption.
Experience with docker containers.
Configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Advanced experience with managing databases, both MySQL and MSSQL.
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, PRTG.
Advanced Experience with Jenkins or similar orchestration platforms.
Experience with GIT and configuration control principles.
Experience with email security platforms like Mimecast.
Automation driven personality.
Excellent problem solving & analytical attitude.
Eager to learn, experiment and brake things (but not in production).
Fluent in English, spoken and written.
