We are seeking to welcome a qualified Trade Finance Officer (Band 4T) to join our Corporate and SME Division reporting directly to the Trade Finance Product Owner.
Overall Job Definition
Trade Finance Officer assists in development of trade finance related business (Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees and Documentary Collection) with strong emphasis on cross-selling, development and maintenance of profitable business relationships within the designated corporate & SME customer portfolio. Structures, negotiates and drafts all the trade finance deals in close collaboration with the Trade Finance Product Owner.
Main Responsibilities:
Assists in structuring Trade Finance Transactions from negotiation phase, advising of clients, drafting,
offering tailor made solutions based on the underlying relationship between parties that best fit client’s needs
Ensures high standard application of ICC Paris Rules and international standard banking practices
Collaborates with all structures in the bank in regards to L/C, BG and DC activity to improve the workflow efficiency
Evaluates the client underlying contracts’ terms which form the basis of transactions and the terms
and conditions of the required instruments (Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees and Documentary Collections)
Prepares the texts of BGs/LCs as well as amendment texts if applicable
Negotiates the terms and conditions in collaboration with team members
Assists in selection of the financial operations execution channels, considering the risk exposure
and the compliance with ICC Paris rules and internal bank regulations and procedures
Negotiates with correspondent banks for texts, structure, terms and pricing regarding confirmed L/Cs or indirect BGs
Collaborates closely with the Legal Department regarding non-standard texts of bank guarantees or other issues that may arise in order to protect the interests of the bank and the client
Collaborates with the Compliance Department prior to the issuance of all import Letters of Credit and international Bank Guarantees regarding the details of the transactions as well as in other cases when it is needed regarding trade finance products
Collaborates closely with Trade Finance Unit under Loan Administration Department to ensure efficiency of the workflow for the issuance of trade finance transactions and their successful follow up until their payment or closure
Prepares and revises Internal Procedures and Regulations on Trade Finance instruments in collaboration with Trade Finance Product Owner
Studies continuously standard terms and conditions published for trade finance products comparing them with the market
Assists in preparation of commercial offers in regards to pricing & structure in collaboration with team members
Performs cost benefit & risk analysis in order to negotiate pricing to optimize Trade Finance Products & services profitability
Assists Relationship Managers in identifying Trade Finance sales opportunities in his/her clients’ Portfolios
Assists in tracking sales records and in monitoring product usage and system operations for trade finance products
Controls and monitors that commissions of the trade finance products are applied correctly
and in time by Trade Finance Unit under Loan Administration Department
Collaborates closely with MIS and other related departments to generate different reports regarding trade finance instruments
Follows up and continuously studies changes on International Trade Finance Instruments rules of ICC Paris
Competencies / Skills:
Very good communication skills with clients and colleagues
Capability to work in a team, under pressure and eager to learn
Ability to work under deadlines
Be accurate, detail oriented and efficient problem solving skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs (word, excel)
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English language
Knowledge of Trade Finance products and International Rules of ICC Paris
and international standard banking practices for trade finance products would be considered an advantage
Bachelor’s Degree in Economy or Law, master’s Degree is considered a plus
Previous working experience in Business Lending Processes and/or Trade Finance activity in the Bank would be considered an advantage
