SOS Children’s Villages Albania is a private, nongovernmental and nonprofit organization, which makes every attempt to offer a permanent home to the children who have lost their parents or for several reasons have no possibility to live with them. The SOS Children’s Village also strongly support the children at risk of losing their families, and the families in need through implementation of different projects aiming at the further development of their capacities.
The SOS Children’s Village is going to implement a new project, “Resilient Families – A Step out of Poverty!” The project aims to contribute to poverty reduction and to strengthen the coping mechanisms of socially and economically disadvantaged families affected by multiple crises.
Duration of the Project October 2024 till September 30, 2026.
SOS Children’s Villages Albania is looking for a suitable person for the position of Finance Officer of the Project STEP
The Finance Officer supports the project manager and ensures correct implementation of the designed project funds and achievement of the objectives, within the conditions laid down by the donor.
Main responsibilities:
Manage project budget, including tracking of financial and material resources;
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project finances and progress status;
Develop and oversee project expenditure monitoring system and review actual financial performance against the budget, and explain variances on a regular basis;
Ensure project staff compliance with all SOS CVI administrative and operational procedures and policies, as well as applicable donor regulations;
Prepare project expenditures, budget adjustments, and cost modification requests to donor;
Maintain written track record of all project-related communication and agreements;
Keep all project-related documentation on file;
Review on regular basis project details, deliverables and schedules as per project Implementation Plan;
Ensure monthly, quarterly, yearly and final reports are produced on time, in quality manner as per donor requirements;
Prepares and monitors the liquidity status and project forecasts, as well as the procedure for requesting funds within the internal SOS systems and reports to the project’s and finance’s managers;
Prepares and records invoices, contracts, bank statements and other financial documentation and reports to the finance manager;
Preparation of the required procurements documentation of project
Responsible for all project documentation, database and archive
Provides administrative support when preparing events and communicating with suppliers
Ensure correctness of accounting system to be organised in a professional way, including: accounting software, documents management, and processes according to SOS CVI and donor’s requirements.
Ensure correct annual budget preparation to be incorporated into SOS CVI planning and budgeting process
Consolidation of all required quarterly, half-year, annual financial reports;
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; postgraduate degree preferred;
At least 2 years experience in financial management of national or international projects;
Experience of project/program concept development and management;
Familiarity with standard procurement regulations and principles
Experience in preparing financial reports;
Fluency in written and spoken English language;
Strong analytical and computer skills (applications and databases), with an emphasis on budget and financial analysis;
Personal Competencies:
Experience in operations management;
Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under time pressure;
Efficient task prioritization and time management;
Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking.
