is currently recruiting a
Head of Accounting
.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of monthly, half-yearly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards, supporting the Bank’s structures in planning, budgeting and reporting processes;
Oversee the timely submission of accurate and reliable financial and regulatory data to the Parent Company for Group Consolidated Reporting purposes;
Ensure the timely preparation and submission of financial, statistical and regulatory reports to local authorities, shareholders and the Bank’s Top Management;
Lead the continuous review of the adequacy and effective application of administrative and accounting procedures and processes;
Oversee the accurate and timely accounting of the Bank’s transactions, including documents and entries that are not automatically recorded;
Manage the Bank’s chart of accounts, including the opening, maintenance and closure of accounts;
Ensure the completion of controls and reconciliations between accounting data, financial statements and regulatory reports;
Oversee tax accounting and VAT records, ensuring compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements;
Ensure the timely preparation and submission of tax declarations and FATCA and CRS reports;
Provide guidance to the Bank’s structures on accounting and tax matters, including support for the launch of new products;
Monitor changes in accounting standards, tax legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring their appropriate implementation;
Coordinate with internal and external auditors throughout the audit process and ensure the timely provision of the required information;
Oversee the inventory process for the Bank’s tangible and intangible assets, in accordance with local regulations and internal procedures.
Requirements for this position are:
University degree in
Finance, Accounting or Economics
; professional qualifications in accounting or auditing would be considered an advantage;
Experience in
financial reporting and accounting
within the
banking sector
, or in the audit of banks and financial institutions within an international audit firm;
Strong knowledge of
IFRS
,
local accounting standards and
financial statement preparation;
Good knowledge of the regulatory framework governing financial and statistical reporting in the banking sector;
Good knowledge of tax legislation and reporting requirements, including VAT, FATCA and CRS;
Strong leadership, planning and decision-making skills;
Very good command of English.
