EPPC Albania on behalf of its client, one of the most prestigious and serious in the market, is currently recruiting a Construction & Real Estate Internal Auditor.
The role of an Internal Auditor in the construction and real estate industry involves ensuring that financial and operational processes comply with regulations, policies, and industry standards. Internal Auditors play a crucial role in identifying risks, assessing controls, and providing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Major responsibilities:
Develop and execute risk-based plans for construction and real estate projects;
Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of financial and operational controls;
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements and company policies and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory guidelines affecting the construction and real estate sector;
Examine financial records, statements and transactions, billing accuracy, and contractual terms related to construction and real estate activities;
Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls related to project management, procurement and financial processes and recommend improvement to strengthen internal controls;
Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes within construction and RE operations;
Assess if the projects are being managed efficiently in terms of time and resources; and in terms of quality control- if the work performed meets the specified standards and any agreed-upon benchmarks;
Provide recommendations for process enhancements to improve overall performance;
Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and action plans;
Communicate audit results to management and collaborate on the implementation of corrective actions;
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, project management, and legal departments;
Collaborate with external auditors as needed.
Requirements for this position are:
Possession of a degree in Civil Engineering or similar branches in Engineering;
At least 5 years of previous experience in construction and/or real estate activities;
Proven experience in supervision; and/or cost engineering; and/or project management in construction or real estate industry;
Excellent mathematical, analytical and computer skills;
Engineering Certifications are preferred (PMP; Fidic etc.);
Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills;
High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills;
Very good command of English & Driving License, Class B.
