FLEET MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role Title:FLEET MANAGERDepartment:AdministrativeReports to (role title):Executive Director
Role Purpose:The Fleet Manager is responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating, and supervising the programs for assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles. You will be responsible for creating and overseeing fleet safety, processes, budgeting, cost efficiency, inventory, and repairs.
Key Acountabilities:
Efficient asset utilization.
Vehicle inspection and maintenance.
Real-time vehicle location tracking.
Vehicle performance monitoring, record keeping, and improvement.
Monitoring, correcting, and improving driving behaviors and operations.
Issues and bottlenecks detected in fleet operations.
Fleet’s performance and expenses.
Budgets and major purchases.
Costs of fleet operations.
Plans and sets fleet-level targets.
Usage of company’s digital tools to ensure high quality of work execution.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience required: (Include Professional / Technical and Personal Attributes)
Great written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent leadership skills, including goal-setting, motivation and training.
Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices.
Basic math and data anylisis skills.
Familiarity with any fleet management software.
Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed.
Ability to set and monitor a budget.
Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Proficient in English language.
Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
Keen attention to detail.
Key Metrics & Relationships:
Key Metrics:
Directly accountable for ensuring the company has value from Fleet operations.
Long-term planning to ensure cost saving.
Has the authority to negotiate agreements & rates with stakeholders.
Relationships:
Regular interaction with Operations & Finance team.
Regular reporting to Executive director.
Suppliers & Customers.
