Job Position: Procurement Specialist
Purpose of the job position: Responsible for purchasing goods and/or services for the assigned product class, taking care to respect the policies,
company directives and procedures and optimizing prices, delivery and general contractual terms.
The Procurement Specialist, working constantly in collaboration and under the supervision of the dept. Manager, must manage the commercial negotiations, the technical cost reduction activities for the assigned TCR class.
Organizational Unit: Procurement Department
Duties and Responsibilities:
Critically analyse procurement processes, review in line with corporate business situations.
Research, manage and evaluate new and consolidated sources of supply through traditional methods,
or with Web-based methods: systematic and non-occasional analysis of market supply opportunities.
Manage the databases relating to potential suppliers.
Follow the setting of the procurement budget with regard to commercial cost reductions and technical cost reductions for its product class under the direct supervision of the Manager.
Proceed with the monthly reporting relating to the final balance of the results obtained by making a critical analysis compared to the budget assigned f
or the relevant product category (Gap Analysis) and plans the actions necessary to achieve the assigned targets.
Manage the updating of the strategic needs of the company (raw materials, components, services, performance, investments)
in order to ensure a correct supply in quantitative and qualitative terms and at the best market conditions.
Propose, negotiate and stipulate partnership / supply contracts with international suppliers following the guidelines of the management and dept. manager.
Promote actions with the aim of improving the level of service rendered by the sources of supply belonging to their own product class.
Define and manage outsourcing contracts, framework contracts.
Make or buy analysis.
Monitor the raw materials market for the relevant product class.
If the candidate is assigned the management of a European-level product class, in collaboration and supervision of the Manager,
it will be necessary to represent the Company during the purchase negotiations within the Sumitomo European Purchasing Organization,
following the rules, being co - responsible for the results achieved for the relevant product class.
Directly carry out activities with operational value such as the management of commercial transactions and supply relationships,
management of purchase requests for the purchase cost center, issue of requests for offers, preparation and execution of commercial negotiations, etc.
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economic studies or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills and the ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of computers and understanding of purchase order software platforms.
Math skills and attention to detail.
Excellent knowledge of English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional foreign languages is a plus.
